Meet My Melody!

My Melody is one of the sweetest rabbits to hop their way into the kawaii-sphere. Created by Sanrio, this girly bunny is the exact opposite of her rebellious friend-slash-rival, Kuromi.

But did you know that My Melo’s also one of the oldest characters in the Sanrio-verse?

My Melody’s Kawaii Story

Born in the magical forest of Mariland, My Melody is a girl bunny who lives together with her mama and papa in a cozy house in the woods. Created in 1975, this cute rabbit is Sanrio’s version of Little Red Riding Hood!  You’ll never see My Melo going out without her hood given by her loving grandma.

Sweet, kind, and girly, My Melody has a lot of friends. She has two BFFs - the pretty pink-colored sheep, My Sweet Piano, and the energetic kawaii superstar, Hello Kitty. What about Kuromi? Well, even though some people mistake the Kuromi and My Melo to be sisters, these two actually have a complicated love-hate relationship!

How Popular Is My Melody?

Everyone fell in love with Melo-chan the moment she was introduced to the kawaii-verse. She's almost always in the Top 10 of Sanrio's yearly poll, the Sanrio Character Awards. She even has an upcoming stop-motion Netflix series with her rival Kuromi called "My Melody & Kuromi."

My Melody's a popular little bunny. You can see her live in Sanrio's theme park Puroland. She even has cafes, hotel rooms, and even kawaii apartment houses all made for fans of Sanrio’s pink-loving bunny.
